Thabita

It was hot, incredibly hot. The sun had been shining for hours; and in this dry sandy wasteland, it could kill. No, it would be her kill. She didn’t have tears to shed any more. All dried up because of the heat. And of course because of all the tears she shed during her time that she was being held captive.

During her captivity, she had lost all sense of time. In the beginning, during the awful interrogations, her guards woke her up over and over again to start the questions again. Deprived of all dignity, food, a bath and more, she barely survived. Only the thought of the man she loved kept her alive.

And yet… He didn’t come to save her. She knew he wasn’t captured, he was alive. The people who kidnapped here weren’t even aware that she was the fiancée from the Sheik Khalid Saif Amir. They didn’t even know she knew people here in this country. But she heard them talking about the Sheik.

Why, she though, why did they kidnap me? I am not an important person in this country, when you don’t count that her fiancée is the Sheik and ruler of a neighbour country. What could it be?

Thabita knew that she had to stop her mind from wandering and overthinking. She first needed to find water. Soon. She would not survive much longer without something to drink or without shade. The blisters on her body became bigger and bigger, and a few of the blisters had already started to become inflamed.

But she had to keep going! She had to make sure she was safe before all hell broke loose and everyone knew she’d escaped a few hours before.

She stumbled on, eyes almost pinched shut to protect them from the bright sun. Furthermore, she hadn’t had the possibility to grab a pair of sunglasses from one of her guards. Too afraid she’d wake him or both up during her attempt.

Next: 2-3 Weeks Ago, Thabita
