Sheik Khalid Saif Amir

He was pacing. Where the F is she? Where? What had happened between she got out of the aeroplane, and before she went through customs? She vanished. Gone, nowhere to be found. This wasn’t happening. This didn’t happen in Saharaya. Not here, not in his family!

As soon as he found out that one of the tickets he sends to the parents of his fiancée Thabita was used, he ordered his most trusted men to pick her up from the airport. Only to find out that she did board the plane, she did arrive in the Sahara but vanished between the airport building and customs.

There were signs of her on the video. The last picture was her turning around, as if she was called. She stepped back, in a blind spot of the video, and she was never to been seen again on the airport. This meant that the persons who got to her knew exactly where the cameras were placed.

He recognized the severity of this. The cameras on the airport were partly hidden for the people and partly visible. Her last moments were captured on one of the hidden cameras. And those hidden cameras were only known by a few. Only by men of his inner circle.

A breach! He had a breach! In his inner circle. Men who were in this circle for at least a decade. Who was the one betraying him? Or were there more? In his mind, he went through all the people. Aksil married to his youngest sister, Thalia. Thalia, his youngest sister and a real warrior.

From the group of his inner circle, he trusted Aksil and Thalia. He was sure they would never betray him! Then there was Zeğiga, his oldest sister. They had their troubles in their past, mainly because she wanted to marry a person not suitable for her. Heck, not suitable for anyone. He (Yedder) was found guilty for dealing drugs and murder in other countries. After his sister found out, she left him. Sheik Khalid Saif Amir wasn’t sure, though. Zeğiga might still want revenge.

Then there were only Hama and Ourzig. Both were long time friends. They grew up together, and their parents were in the inner circle of his family a very long time. Their ancestors were in the inner circle of his ancestors. Even before the killing of one of the guards of his family more than 300 years ago.

Who can it be? Who will betray him? One person, more? He decided then and there that, for now, he could not trust any of them. Not even his siblings. Therefore, he decided to contact his best friend. He used to be in his inner circle, but after he got married a few years ago and he and his wife were blessed with twin boys.

Aksar, his best friend, decided he had to leave Saharaya. To help the family of his wife settle down in a new country after they had to flee from a country where the leader became a horrendous dictator. They still kept in contact several times a week.

In his new country, Aksar started a security company. He had been head of security for him in Saharaya for many years, and he was the best. It didn’t take long before the company became the most trusted worldwide.

Contacting Aksar, his best friend

Khalid heard the phone ringing just one time before Aksar answered, “Hello dear friend, how are you doing?” “Not good” shouted Khalid and immediately started to explain what had happened at the airport with Thabita. His friend asked him to go slowly, take a deep breath and explain it again. He did.

After he’d told everything, he took another deep breath. Aksar summarised everything he heard and then said that he would immediately start to find out if she was captured, simply disappeared. And when she was captured, where she was being held. And by whom. He also told Khalid not to trust the people around him. Not even his own family. Nor his friends.

Where could she be, Aksar thought, let’s start from the beginning and find out who took her from the airport. And furthermore, who was able to get at the data from the airport that the ticket was used. This goes deep, he thought. Extremely deep.

Khalid, Catching Up With His Tribes

There were some things he could do. Important things that were already in the pipeline. Like going to the tribes who supported his reign and just be there for a while. Getting connected with their leaders again. He kept a tight bond with these tribes. Helped them where he could. Supported them without being asked. He visited them at least every 2–3 months. He always enjoyed being with the tribes in the desert.

He checked his agenda and noticed that the topics in it could be done when he was visiting the tribes. Then he called his secretary and ordered him to arrange everything to being able to visit his tribes ASAP. Best starting the end of the day. Or tomorrow.

As Sheik, he had an extensive staff, but he loved to do things by himself. When he had time he loved to cook and, not to brag, he was good at it. When travelling, he collected the stuff he wanted and needed during his travel time himself and packed his own bag. He also was extremely capable in defending himself. Although he had his guards of course.

To distract his mind, he called his private material arts teacher and booked a few lessons for the same day. He walked back to his rooms and started to pack. After he was finished, he changed in swimwear and walked to his private pool. It was one of the few luxuries he afforded himself. And he made good use of the pool.

After swimming several laps, he stopped. And after a shower, he went to the gym. His teacher just arrived. He clarified what session he wanted and they started. Kick Boxing and Angampora today. When he was done with the long training, he went back to his chambers and texted his secretary for information about the trip to his tribes. Happy about the answer he received, he was good to go within 2 hours. The helicopter was arranged. The tribes informed.

Khalid used the time he had before he had to leave to send a few text messages to Aksar to inform him that he would be gone and how he could reach him. Urging him to contact him as soon as he had any new information, no matter how little. Then he took the belongings he needed during his visits to the clans and went outside, where he chauffeurs already waited to bring him to the helicopter field nearby on his property.
