Please note that this story is ongoing. Updated as soon as it is written. This means there might be some changes to previous versions without notice.

This is a fantasy story about a planet far, far away. A planet with the ability to make itself, and its inhabitants, invisible to discovery. It’s a peaceful planet, and they want to keep it that way. For tens of thousands of years, things have been going well.

Before you lies the first part about the planet Plou. Pronounced: Ploe-oo. A bit strange, isn’t it? But that’s because of the language of the planet’s inhabitants. Perhaps you’d like to try pronouncing it yourself?

In this part, I’ll explain the names of the planet’s inhabitants and what language they speak. And I’ll show you drawings of what the inhabitants look like.

Because the inhabitants don’t live on our planet, we can’t call them people. The inhabitants of Plou have a different name. This depends on their age. When referring to all the inhabitants together, they are called Ploumas (pronounced: Ploemas). As you’ve probably already guessed, the “OU” in the name of the planet Plou is pronounced “OE.” In the name of the planet, it’s even pronounced as a double “OE” (“Ploe-oo”).

Because the Ploumas live much longer than the people who live on Earth, the age categories are also different. I’ve described it below:

All inhabitants together: Ploumas
Babies: Boubas (0 – 20 years)
Toddlers: Pupas (21 – 40 years)
Preschoolers: Klouklas (ages 41 – 55)
Children: Koukas (ages 56 – 70)
Teenagers: Toumas (ages 71 – 100)
Adults: Voumas (ages 101 – 300)
Elderly (ages 300+): Zjoumbas

Technical advanced Planet Plou

The Ploumas are highly advanced and have been technologically advanced for centuries, far exceeding the humans on Earth. For example, during the time the pyramids were being built in Egypt, they visited Earth. Those were the days! Together with the Egyptians, they ensured that, among other things, a symbol resembling an unknown spaceship can be seen in the hieroglyphs. And this was thousands of years ago! Back when electricity or even steam propulsion wasn’t even possible on Earth.

But back to Plou, the hexagon-shaped planet this story is about. Are you curious too?

Perhaps you’re wondering what a hexagon is? A hexagon, like a circle, a square, and a triangle, is a mathematical shape. We won’t be discussing mathematics yet. That will come in a later book, when you’re already in school or in a higher grade.

De Hexagonvormige Planeet Plouma

So, hexagon. A hexagon is a shape with six sides. A hexagon. In the case of the planet, all sides are the same length. A beautifully proportional shape. Just like the people on planet, Plou are balanced and friendly. They’re also helpful. They sense when someone needs help. And they’re always willing to help each other.

Plou, the Invisible Planet

As I mentioned, the planet can make itself invisible. Although it has a warm yellow/orange colour that’s not easy to hide. Why do they do this? You might be wondering: They have several reasons for this. We’ll discuss these in the following adventures.

Sometimes, the inhabitants take their pods out and take a trip around the planet. They usually do this to relax. Occasionally, they hear, or pick up telepathically, cries for help from space. And then they have no choice but to try to offer help.

The Inhabitants of Planet Plou

There’s something very special about the inhabitants of Plou. Not only do they live much longer than humans, they also don’t get sick and always remain healthy. Another remarkable thing is that they’re born almost white (actually, that colour is a very pale yellow). And as they grow older, their colour changes from pale yellow to the orange-yellow of their planet, to almost brown. This happens automatically; they don’t have to do anything.

One day, they wake up and find their colour has changed. No flakes on the bed from moulting, like humans do. Nothing like that. Just a different colour. A little darker than before. They also immediately know they’re in a different age group. That they’ve become a tiny bit more mature.

Until next time, Plou!
