Sheikh Khalid Saif Amir

Immediately after his sister showed him the photo of Thabita on Social Media, he became intrigued. Not only because he felt his stomach tighten. Also because of the eagerness to find out if she could be a descendant? A descendant of the woman in the painting in his palace. And, if so, where has this family been those long years? Centuries after they had to flee. She felt like a Sheika to him. His?

Why did he have the strong feeling that she should become his Sheika? He never felt something like this before. After rescuing her in the desert during his visit to one of his clans, it was clear to him. She was made for him. They had long talks, and he felt sparkles flying from and to each other when they accidentally touched one another.

What he didn’t know was if she also felt it. Still with memory loss and healing from her time wandering in the desert heat. While talking, sometimes she said something automatically when he asked a question. Then wondering how she knew the answer.

300 Year old Painting and Recent Photo

The similarity at the moment, Thabita being sunburned and looking sick, wasn’t as striking as it was before. On the Social Media photo from her. He was able to see the familiarity, though.

After he looked at the photo he contacted Aksar and he had put several of his most trusted men on it. These men were looking into the family tree, where the family came from. Their ancestors and their family capital. Everything was checked and monitored. And above that they kept an eye on Thabita, her family and also Jacky. These men kept him informed about her life.

This way he found out that she, his future Sheika, was a bright and clever person. Nice and polite with a traditional upbringing. He felt the attraction to her immediately and it only grew stronger after receiving more information about her.

He was informed that she didn’t have a boyfriend. Nor did she have any important relationship with guys/men in the past. On the contrary, she was completely devoted to her studies. In her sparse spare time, she volunteered at an animal shelter and in a hospital. She liked to go out for a tea, lunch, or dinner with a few of her friends or Jacky only.

Succession of Saharaya. He needs a Sheika

As Sheikh of Saharaya, he needed to find a Sheika and have children to secure his succession to the throne. Yet he never felt attracted to any woman enough to commit to a long-term relationship. He, of course, has his sexual relationships now and then. Normal for a very healthy man with a good libido.

When he had a sexual encounter, it was only with women who understood that it was just sex and no relationship that would lead to a marriage between her and him. Although there were always many women who offered themselves to him, he was a Sheikh, and he had never taken advantage of them. And he always felt that when he finally would meet his “one and only,” the feeling would be mutual.

He didn’t take advantage of the women he had sex with. Although he didn’t give them the attention he knew he would give the woman he fell in love with for the rest of his life. What I want, he thought, are long, romantic, and erotic encounters with my wife. My Sheika. I want to touch, feel, and taste her. Everywhere I can. Learning what makes her tick in the best way. What she likes and how she likes it.

Hopefully she likes, no, loves, it as much as I do. And in every way possible.

In his bones he felt that Thabita was his woman. The one who should be his Sheika. What he didn’t want, though, was to force her into marrying him. I want her to love me, he thought. Her parents told him that she was shocked to find out that they had married her off to him.

However, she always listened to her parents. And that’s why she agreed. Under certain conditions, though. Her parents agreed with her conditions. And they were sent to him to agree with.

He agreed, partly ==> mostly, with her conditions; he had to if he wanted to marry her. Yet, he didn’t know if you could fulfill all of them. He for sure would try. After meeting her, he even felt more attracted to her. Meeting her while she was sick and alone in the desert. There were a few of the conditions he wanted to talk about with Thabita, though.

During the few days with this clan, they spend several hours together. Talking about all kinds of topics. Even with her memory loss, it was clear she was an interesting, intelligent, polite, and bright young woman. The attraction he felt towards her became stronger with every conversation. There were times he “accidentally” touched her, trying to find out if she was feeling the same.

While giving her a cup of tea. Or helping her up, supporting her on her lower back, from her chair. It didn’t seem she was startled by the touches. Khalid felt his whole body reacting when he touched her. Tingling in his fingers and arms. He sometimes even became a little dizzy and overwhelmed. Yet, he still wasn’t aware if she felt the same. She seemed so cool.

After 2 days he left this clan to visit the other clans. During the days following, he had difficulties keeping his mind on his work and with the people he visited. His mind wandered over and over again back to Thabita.

Several times he wanted to call her. Via a cell phone, this would not be possible. No connection in the middle of the desert. And Thabita didn’t have a phone. Or did she? He wasn’t aware of the fact that her bag was checked upon arrival. Probably not.

Calling her via the CB radio would be possible. Everyone could hear their conversation, though. That was not something he wanted.
In the meantime he was visiting his 3rd clan. From 5. Only a few days were left before he was able to go back to the clan that was nursing Thabita. Long, long days.

He had been in contact with the doctors and nurses who were taking care of Thabita. From them he learned that the burns on her skin were healing properly. Her memory was something else, though. As if something kept her brain from being able to remember what had happened.

He intended to find out what happened with her. Aksar had let him know he would be over to visit him in his palace within a week. Taking his wife with him. Who maybe was able to find out what happened to Thabita. Aksar found some interesting things during his investigation. Topics he didn’t want to talk about over the phone. Not even a secured line.

That must be something, he thought. Making a mental note that all the rooms in his palace, gardens, and cellars needed to be checked. And all other small rooms, including rooms of the servants. They all should be checked. Checked for eavesdropping equipment. Hidden video cameras included.

What he would ask Askar also is to check all security tapes from the last month. The ones from his palace. It’ll take probably weeks, if not months. But he needed to know who was (or who were) responsible for all the bad things happening in his Kingdom and with Thabita.

Now that he was thinking about it, it was clear it was not, since lately strange things had happened. A ladder crashing into a window from his palace while it previously was secured with strong straps. They looked outworn. Were they really?

One of his cars had 2 flat tires. Luckily he was able to stop without accidents. Guards who checked the road noticed a lot of glass and some spikes. Seemingly shambles from a previous accident that had not yet been cleaned up.

One of his guards had a bike accident some time ago and was hit by a drunk driver. All these accidents have happened in the last 9-10 months now. Small things that didn’t attract some kind of notice. These things happened all the time. The problem was, they didn’t happen all the time with him or within his circle.

And now the fact that Thabita had disappeared from the airport. He remembered that there were also a few other foreign women who seemed to have disappeared from Saharaya. 2. Within the last 9 months. In fact, the first woman who went missing was the first “strange” thing happening in decades.

Saharaya was known for its peaceful environment. Hadn’t had any troubles with neighboring countries nor with other countries. Not for at least 3 centuries. The last time something serious had happened was the murder of the ancestor of Thabita. Although she wasn’t aware of this. Not knowing anything about these ancestors. It was always kept hidden. Kept secret.

Were all the things that happened indeed accidents? Or was there something different going on? Something sinister and dangerous? Askar needs to check all these accidents and who was involved with them. He has to go to the bottom. Protect and, when needed, save his country and his people from whatever was threatening them.

And now, now he needed to focus on the last visits to his clan. And after that, pick up Thabita.
